British Sugar’s Bury St Edmunds site has been established for 100 years and during that time is has grown and evolved into the site that we see today. As with all businesses there is a need to adapt and continually improve and British Sugar have identified that to provide an improved work environment this project needs to be undertaken. The scope of the project is to reallocate and improve staff welfare and training facilities into one combined, purpose designed building. This will replace a decrepit and outdated building and provide British Sugar with a front of house facility that creates a clearly identifiable entrance and gateway for their site.

The new building will provide a central hub for staff locker, changing and showering facilities, it will also provide a centre for training and meeting spaces and act as the meeting point for visitors attending British Sugars site. By replacing a building they will also be making a positive forward step in terms of sustainability as the new building will be more energy efficient, have much improved thermal performance and provide much higher quality staff provisions.
